The Accounting Manager serves as the department’s primary point of contact for non-grant financial matters and works closely with the department chair, supervisor, college budget director, UF Finance and Accounting, Procurement, Auxiliary Accounting, and other university offices to ensure accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with applicable university, college, state, and federal requirements. This position is responsible for the overall administration of the Department of Chemistry’s financial staff and functions including accounting, purchasing, , and travel for a department that has approximately 43 tenure track faculty members, 17 teaching and research support faculty members, 41 staff members, over 250 graduate students, and more than 20 postdoctoral and other scientific associates.
