Position Summary

Office Assistant to the TRiO Student Success Program. The Office Assistant reports to the

TRiO- Program Leader.

Essential Functions

• Greet all participants that enter the lab and ensure they are signing in.
• Keeping Lab clean and following opening an closing procedures.
• Inter-campus deliveries;
• General clerical duties, including, but not limited to photocopying, mailing, filing, and scanning; and data entry;
• Responsible for answering the phone, greeting callers, establishing reason for calling, and resolving issue by contacting appropriate TRIO staff that can help the customer.
• Responsible for checking TRIO email on a daily basis, responding to emails in a timely manner or forwarding emails to appropriate TRIO staff.
• Process incoming mail that involves identifying, scanning, and data entry into logs;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student information and files.
• Adhere to assigned work schedule, UIW workplace guidelines, and casual dress.
• Ability to maintain communication with supervisor on a daily basis.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office with Proficiency in Outlook and Microsoft Teams.
• Knowledge of Canva.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or with a team.
• Knowledge of the UIW campus and its locations.
• Knowledge of office protocols, equipment, and programs.
• Ability to adhere to work schedules and maintain good time management.
• Ability to maintain a professional work ethic in the office.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
• Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education

Must be enrolled full-time at UIW (at least 12 credit hours) and be an admitted TRIO participant. Must have at least a 2.0 GPA.

Required Work Experience

Must have some experience working with other students.

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations

None.

Work Hours

Must be available to work a minimum of 10 hours per week during the hours of 8:00am -5:00pm, Monday-Friday. Afternoon hours preferred.

Physical Demands

Sedentary work. Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools.
