Essential Functions: Assess, diagnose, and manage osteoporosis in orthopedic fracture patients Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, residents, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary care teams Provide comprehensive patient education on bone health, osteoporosis treatment options, and injury prevention strategies Promote bone health awareness initiatives to prevent recurrent fractures Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including bone mineral density scans, laboratory tests, and radiographic imaging Prescribe and monitor evidence-based osteoporosis treatment regimens Coordinate referrals and facilitate care transitions to primary care providers and subspecialty services Monitor clinical outcomes and promote adherence to evidence-based best practices Provide care across designated Banner University Medical Center Tucson outpatient clinic locations Minimum Qualifications: Current, unrestricted Arizona Physician Assistant license certification Current BLS and CPR certification Active DEA registration and prescribing privileges Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative academic setting Orthopedic, rheumatology, endocrinology, osteoporosis, or musculoskeletal experience preferred Highly qualified new graduates with a demonstrated interest in orthopedics and osteoporosis/bone health are encouraged to apply.
