Job Opportunity – Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Registered Nurse – Ohio
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts per week (36 hours total), rotating schedule (4 weeks days/4 weeks nights), night shift. Patient ratio 1:1 to 1:2.
Highlights:
- Work in a high-acuity Medical ICU caring for complex patients with multisystem organ failure, respiratory failure, sepsis, post-cardiac arrest, DKA, liver failure, and renal failure
- EPIC electronic medical record system used facility-wide
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Advanced equipment experience including NxStage CRRT, Alaris IV pumps, GE cardiac monitors and ventilators
- Specialized procedures including continuous glucose monitoring and externalized IV pumps for COVID-positive patients
- Two approved time-off periods available during assignment; float to other units within organization as needed
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience required
- EPIC documentation system experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
- Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and ventilator management
- Demonstrated competency with care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, and management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Experience managing and interpreting cardiac dysrhythmias
- Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Completion of Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
- Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership role)
