Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating days/nights based on departmental needs; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period
Highlights:
- 24-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit specializing in complex and hemodynamically compromised adult and geriatric patients
- Advanced critical care including mechanical ventilation, CRRT, pulmonary artery catheter placement, arterial pressure monitoring, and chemotherapy administration
- Epic electronic medical record system required
- 72-hour comprehensive orientation program with interdisciplinary support services
- Common patient diagnoses include oncologic emergencies, COPD, pneumonia, ARDS, GI bleed, sepsis, and autoimmune disorders
- Specialized procedures include bronchoscopy, endoscopy, plasmapheresis, and clinical trial participation
Requirements:
- Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of current acute care MICU experience (must be working consistently within the last 12 months)
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
- Epic charting experience required
- Proficiency with ventilator management, IV starts, arterial line management, central line care, CRRT, and vasoactive drip titration
- Experience with blood product administration, continuous IV sedation, and complex medication regimens
- 2:1 patient ratio experience required
- Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- 2 professional references required (at least 1 from manager/director or formal leadership)
