Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position at a heart hospital, requiring EPIC experience and a minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing background.

Details

  • Work in the Intensive Care Unit of a heart hospital
  • Estimated patient ratio of 1:1-2
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30)
  • No on-call requirements

Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Proficient in IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management
  • Skilled in arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
  • Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning
  • Competent in continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
  • Experience managing dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
  • Skilled in 12 lead EKG/ECG acquisition and IV insulin protocols
  • Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and phlebotomy
  • 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor
  • Charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill ICU patients including cardiac, respiratory, and multisystem organ dysfunction cases
  • Experience with CRRT/CVVHD, Impella, IABP, and pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring preferred
  • Cardiac catheterization pre/post care experience preferred
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred
  • EPIC documentation proficiency preferred
  • Locals accepted at the same rate
  • Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
  • Current employees ineligible for travel assignments at this health system
  • RTO must be submitted and built into contract, limited to 7 days or less
  • Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict credentialing timelines
