Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU travel assignment in Ohio, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Neuro ICU experience and proficiency with ventilators and intracranial pressure monitoring.

Details

  • Neuro ICU setting within a large academic medical center in Ohio
  • Patient ratio of approximately 1:1–2
  • Day/night rotating schedule of 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM / 7:00 PM–7:30 AM), totaling 36 hours per week
  • Day/night rotation occurs every 4 weeks based on unit needs; final schedule confirmed by the manager during the interview
  • Every other weekend is required
  • Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
  • Epic EMR — experience preferred
  • Required skills include IV start, telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, and intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active Ohio RN license or compact RN license (must be active at time of consideration)
  • Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred
  • 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; co-worker references are not accepted

Additional Information

  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers — no radius restriction
  • Former employees of the facility are eligible to apply once they have been away for 6 months or more
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application and is limited to 7 days or fewer for the contract period
  • Ohio state fingerprinting is required — candidates must complete this process promptly after accepting the position; those outside Ohio may need to travel to an in-state location or will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet to be completed urgently
  • Multiple parking permit options are available for purchase near the medical center, ranging from on-site garage access to surface lot options with shuttle service
