Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2+ years of cardiac ICU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• 36 hours per week
• Estimated patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2
• Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period (Friday/Saturday for night shift)
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity level
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license, Ohio or compact, required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• 2 years of cardiac ICU experience preferred
• Skilled in IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz/PA line monitoring, conscious sedation, balloon pumps, and PA lines
• Experience with post cardiac surgery care, CABG, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, and IABP
• Experience with arterial line management, central line care, and CVP monitoring
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with vasoactive and cardiac drip titration
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor; Charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients, including pre/post cardiac cath and cardiac surgery care
• Work in a teaching hospital environment
• Complete mandatory Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon signing contract, including travel to an in-state fingerprinting location if outside Ohio
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system
• RTO must be requested and built into the contract at time of consideration, limited to 7 days or less
