Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU position requiring 2+ years of current ICU experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

  • Surgical ICU/Oncology unit setting
  • Adult patient population with diagnoses including hemorrhagic/hypovolemic shock, sepsis, ARDS, craniotomy, ischemic/hemorrhagic stroke, and intracranial hypertension
  • 13-week assignment on a 12-hour night shift schedule (19:00-7:30), 3x12s
  • May be scheduled for day/night rotating shifts based on department needs, with assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Performs EVD management, ICP monitoring, Massive Transfusion Protocol, mechanical ventilation, CRRT, and vasopressor titration

Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of current ICU experience required in the specialty applied for, consistently worked within the last 12 months
  • Oncology experience preferred but not required
  • Skills required include arterial line management, central/PICC line care, blood product administration, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, CVVHD/CRRT, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and management of dysrhythmias
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  • 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or supervisor; a Charge RN may serve as the second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to surgical and oncology ICU patients requiring advanced monitoring and life support interventions
  • First-time travelers will be considered if they meet the 2+ years of experience requirement
  • Former employees eligible for assignment consideration after 6 months away from the facility
  • Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for travel assignments
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
  • RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
  • Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract due to strict compliance timelines
