Job Title: EHS Assistant

Pay Rate: $21.02/hr
Duration: 8 Months
The EHS Assistant supports Environmental Health & Safety operations within a manufacturing facility, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental programs, maintaining regulatory documentation, conducting audits and inspections, and supporting site-wide EHS initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
Maintain EHS tracking spreadsheets, SharePoint sites, logs, records, and compliance documentation.
Conduct and document safety inspections, audits, assessments, and investigations.
Support safety programs including SAFE, Critical 6, Behavior-Based Safety, hazard hunts, and safety work orders.
Coordinate visitor, contractor, and new-hire safety orientations.
Manage internal and regulatory permits, compliance records, and permit tracking.
Track and administer EHS-related inventory including PPE, LOTO equipment, MSDS/SDS documentation, and safety program materials.
Perform environmental compliance activities including stormwater inspections, SPCC inspections, waste reporting, Tier II reporting, TRI reporting, emissions tracking, and environmental preventive maintenance documentation.
Participate in TPM, 5S, continuous improvement, and safety committee initiatives.
Assist with JHA, RCA, SOP development, and safety compliance programs.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Prior Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience maintaining EHS records, compliance logs, and tracking systems.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety compliance.
Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, incident investigations, and hazard assessments.
Experience with SDS/MSDS management and chemical safety programs.
Familiarity with permit management and compliance documentation.
Working knowledge of TPM methodologies and 5S practices.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SharePoint.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, safety procedures, and specification documents.
Experience with SPCC, SWPPP, VPP, Arc Flash, Contractor Safety, Machine Guarding, and Safe Work programs.
Experience supporting environmental reporting activities including Tier II, TRI, DMR, emissions, and waste compliance reporting.
First Aid/CPR/AED certification experience.
Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and EHS training administration.
Knowledge of JHA, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and SOP development.
