As the University of Tennessee Knoxville's largest non-academic department, team members are responsible for facilities maintenance and repair, custodial needs, landscaping and lawncare, utility work, in-house and capital construction projects, facilities planning and design, environmental initiatives, pest control, campus event services, and facilities administration functions for both the flagship campus and the agricultural institute. They will lay out strategies with direction and unit goals for staff and be responsible for policy, specifications, maintain, replacement and long range planning on the distribution of campus utilities that include Fire mains, Domestic water and hot water, chilled water, natural gas, High voltage Electric, sanitary sewer, storm water, steam, compressed air, energy management.
