Provides routine office support. Answer's department phone line and provides general information. Reviews and processes documents and requests for information, maintains files, enters data and distributes mail. Help with scanning and saving documents electronically, to move to a paperless office.

Responsibilities

  1. Greets and directs visitors to appropriate persons or office in a friendly manner. Answers department's main phone line, and provides general information.

  2. Reviews and processes applications, requisitions and related forms; reviews them for accuracy and completeness; ensures compliance with University and department policies, procedures and regulations.

  3. Answers inquiries that may result in a search for records.

  4. Gathers and assembles data for reports.

  5. Maintains filing systems by determining the most appropriate filing category.

  6. Receives, sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail.

  7. Performs detailed data entry tasks, including entering information into PeopleSoft and UShop.

  8. Helps answer inquiries on requisitions that may result in a search within PeopleSoft and UShop.

  9. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and able to learn new software systems.

  10. Ability to take initiative and work independently.

  11. Helps with scanning documents and saving them electronically.

  12. Helps with additional clerical and office support duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a current University of Utah student.

Preferences

One year of general office experience, or equivalency; effective communication skills, and a commitment to provide excellent customer service required. Must have Outlook and Teams experience.
