Description
American Traveler is seeking a PCU Registered Nurse for night shifts requiring telemetry experience, an active OH or compact RN license, and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a teaching hospital
- Care for telemetry-monitored patients requiring cardiac and dysrhythmia management
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must be able to pass a telemetry competency test
- Experience with IV starts, IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams
- Experience with wound care, insulin drip titration, and non-invasive airway management preferred
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- 2 professional references required, including at least one from a manager or director; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care including medication administration, patient education, and monitoring of telemetry patients
- Responsibilities include managing heparin protocols, PCA, and IV insulin protocols
- Support isolation precautions and PPE compliance as needed
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Former employees eligible for travel assignments after 6 months away from the facility
- Current employees are ineligible for travel assignments at this health system
- First-time travelers not specifically excluded, though prior travel experience is not required
