Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Stepdown/PCU unit requiring at least 1 year of Stepdown/PCU experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a Stepdown/PCU/DOU/IMC and Telemetry unit within a teaching hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
• Primarily weekday schedule with occasional weekends and rotating holidays
• Floating required within OSU
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Stepdown/PCU experience required (4 years required if MS/Tele background only)
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and endocrine/metabolic care
• Experience with non-invasive airway management and nasal cannula respiratory support
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership role and a Charge RN acceptable as the second; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to Stepdown/PCU-level patients requiring telemetry monitoring and emergency response readiness
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO must be submitted with the initial contract and limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for traveler positions
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict credentialing timelines
