Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position at a teaching hospital requiring at least 1 year of acute care experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

• MS/Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
• Weekday and some weekend shifts required
• Float required within the health system
• Care for patients requiring respiratory support, cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and neurological/psychiatric needs

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience with strong acute care background required
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Skilled in chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac), nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and Rapid Response/Code team utilization
• Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE, IV therapy, phlebotomy, peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with substance withdrawal patients required
• PCU experience not required
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor and the second acceptable from a Charge RN; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Tele unit including monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response as needed
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon signing contract due to strict state requirements
• Candidates residing outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location promptly after booking
• Candidates at extreme distances will be mailed a fingerprinting packet requiring urgent completion
• Requested RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees are not eligible for travel assignments at this health system
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
