Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nights position at a teaching hospital, requiring 1 year of experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a teaching hospital
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30), 36 hours per week
• Weekdays with occasional weekends and rotating holidays
• Float required within the OSU health system
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license, Ohio state or compact license required and in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU/Stepdown experience required (4 years required if primary background is MS/Tele)
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and nasal cannula/non-invasive airway management required
• Central line care/management, PICC line management, and IV insulin protocol experience preferred
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second from a Charge RN or higher; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC, telemetry, and respiratory patients
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract, including travel to an in-state fingerprinting location if necessary
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for a travel assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
