Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring 2 years of acute care experience and NIHSS certification, working night shifts at a Louisville facility.

Details

• Med-Surg/PCU mixed acuity unit with 9-14 beds
• Patient ratio of 4-5:1
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts from 6:45pm-7:15am, 3 days per week
• Every other weekend required per unit schedule
• Mixed acuity general med/surg patient population
• RN responsibilities include reading telemetry and titrating limited medications such as heparin
• Uses Epic EMR
• Performs EKG, trach care, PCA management, wound vac care, and feeding tube management as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (KY or Compact) required
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient RN experience required
• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical interventions
• Provides patient and family education specific to care needs and discharge planning
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff
• Functions as a mentor/preceptor and participates in quality and safety improvement efforts
