Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN - Telemetry for a Neuro Surgical Specialty unit requiring 2 years of acute inpatient tele experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Neuro Surgical Specialty unit with 34 beds
  • Patient ratio of 4-5:1
  • Patient population includes spine and neuro surgical diagnoses (not stroke)
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • Equipment includes lumbar/JP drains and wound vacs
  • Skills required include traction, PCA, trach care, EKG, and feeding tubes
  • Night shift schedule from 6:45pm-7:15am
  • Works every other weekend
  • 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
  • RN does not read telemetry monitors

Requirements

  • Active KY or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience required
  • Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
  • Acute inpatient telemetry experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

  • Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Provides patient and family education throughout care and at discharge
  • Supervises and mentors licensed and non-licensed staff
  • Participates in practice governance and evidence-based practice initiatives
  • Optional neuro certification class available through the neuro institute
  • No local rate drop for this position
