Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring OH or compact licensure and prior PCU experience.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) providing lower acuity cardiac care
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4
• 3x12-hour rotating day/night shifts (7:00-19:30 or 19:00-7:30), 36 hours per week
• Weekday and some weekend shifts required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Float to units of similar or lower acuity within the organization as needed
• EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (NIHSS preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience with at least 2 years in PCU preferred
• Cardiac experience preferred
• Strong skills in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and conscious sedation
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with rapid response/code teams
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, including at least one from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and collaborate with the healthcare team
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures
• Complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon signing contract
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees ineligible for travel positions at this health system
• RTO must be requested and built into the contract at time of submission, limited to 7 days or less
• First-time travelers considered based on experience requirements
