Description

Job Opportunity – Neuro ICU Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 36 hours per week, day/night rotation (rotating every 4 weeks based on unit needs), every other weekend required. Weekend shifts for night shift are defined as Friday and Saturday nights; Sunday is not considered a weekend night. Patient ratio of 2:1 across all shifts.

Highlights:

  • Neuro ICU specializing in stroke, traumatic brain injury, post-neurosurgery, and complex neurological conditions
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Exposure to advanced neuromonitoring including ICP monitoring, EVD management, and EEG
  • Ventilator management, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, and bedside procedures including central line and arterial line management
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including PT, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and lift teams
  • Travel assignment with potential for two pre-approved time-off periods

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Previous travel experience required
  • Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license in hand at time of submission)
  • Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Skills: IV start and maintenance, telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management, ventilator management, intracranial pressure monitoring, central line and arterial line management, titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  • Willingness to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
  • Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing

Patient Population:

  • Adults with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subarachnoid hemorrhages, seizures, neuromuscular diseases (myasthenia gravis, Guillain-Barre syndrome), meningitis, and post-operative neurosurgery patients
  • Bedside procedures include tracheostomy, PEG tube placement, central and arterial line insertion, and EVD placement
