    Contract | Rotating Days and Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Day: 7:00–19:30 / Night: 19:00–7:30 | Every Other Weekend Rotation | Holidays as Needed

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit serving an adult and geriatric population under a Family Medicine service with a variety of conditions and diagnoses
    • Care for patients including those from Department of Corrections facilities within a secured, locked wing; staff are always accompanied by a corrections officer when assisting these patients
    • Perform and monitor telemetry, identifying and responding to cardiac rhythms including lethal arrhythmias
    • Start and maintain IV access as a routine component of patient care
    • Float to other units as needed based on staffing and census requirements
    • Rotate between day and night shifts, with scheduling protections ensuring no more than 2 shift flips per 6-week period and a minimum of 36 hours off between a night shift end and a day shift start for patient care assignments
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license required
    • BLS certification required – American Heart Association (AHA) only
    • Minimum of 2 years of acute care inpatient RN experience within the last 3 years in Medical Surgical or Telemetry
    • Demonstrated experience starting IVs required
    • EPIC EMR experience required
    • Must pass a Telemetry competency exam prior to start (adult and pediatric components; passing score of 80% or higher with strict criteria for lethal rhythm identification; maximum of three attempts)
    • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience caring for geriatric populations in an inpatient setting
    • Familiarity with cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring
    • Comfort working in a high-acuity, diverse patient population environment including correctional health patients
