Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN), Medical-Surgical/Telemetry – Wisconsin
Start Date: October 12, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Day/Night rotation: 0700-1930 or 1900-0730), every other weekend rotation, and holidays as needed

- 28-bed acute care medical-surgical/telemetry unit within a Magnet-designated academic medical center
- Fast-paced environment caring for adults and geriatrics with complex medical diagnoses including general internal medicine, geriatrics, and special pathogens/infectious diseases
- Epic EMR system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
- 20 hours of orientation provided; floating to like units as needed
- Travel assignment requiring two years of recent acute care experience and successful completion of telemetry competency exam
- Daily census of 28-29 patients on a dedicated teaching unit within a top-ranked academic hospital
Requirements:
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
- BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
- Minimum of two years of acute care experience within the last three years in medical-surgical/telemetry specialty
- Epic charting system experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Must pass facility telemetry competency exam prior to start (strict passing criteria: 100% identification of lethal rhythms, 80% overall passing score, maximum three attempts with remediation)
- Must reside 50 miles or more from the facility
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
Essential Skills:
- Telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care and management
- Blood product administration and IV insulin protocols
- Titration of insulin drips and oxygen administration
- Isolation precautions/PPE and non-invasive airway management
- Utilization of rapid response and code teams
