Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Tele

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in Orthopedics to join a fast-paced medical-surgical unit. The ideal candidate will possess advanced clinical skills and the ability to manage complex patient care situations effectively.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an orthopedic nursing role.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records is preferred.
• Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIH).
• Proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Experience as a Charge Nurse.
• Exposure to Level I trauma settings.

Job Details

• Patient-to-nurse ratios are typically 5-6:1, with potential flex to 7:1 in extraordinary circumstances.
• Contract lengths of 13 weeks or longer will be considered.
• Shifts are 12 hours, with opportunities for both 36 and 48-hour schedules.
• Travelers may be required to float to other medical-surgical units based on staffing needs and patient census.
• Every other weekend commitment is required, including making up any missed weekend shifts due to call-offs.
• Certain holidays will be unavailable for time-off requests.

Patient Population

This unit primarily cares for orthopedic, neuro spine, med-surg, and post-surgical patients, with an average daily census of 37 patients.

Additional Information

All staff members must be prepared to manage pain and recovery for postoperative orthopedic and spine patients. Candidates should expect to work in a dynamic and occasionally high-pressure environment, managing diverse patient care challenges.
