Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse with a specialty in Orthopedics to join a fast-paced unit. The ideal candidate will be equipped to manage patients requiring both orthopedic and neuro-spine care while demonstrating expertise in pain management.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to orthopedic, neuro spine, med-surg, and post-surgical patients.
• Monitor vital signs and perform telemetry checks as necessary.
• Administer IV therapy and ensure effective pain management protocols are followed.
• Assist in the coordination of patient care, ensuring timely and effective communication with the healthcare team.
• Float to other med-surg units as required to meet staffing needs based on patient census.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure a safe and efficient patient care environment.

Contract Length

The unit will accept contracts of 20+ weeks, with a hard stop date of February 27, 2027. This opportunity aims to maintain staffing for the upcoming holiday season.

Shifts and Requirements

• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (4x12-hour shifts).
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend is mandatory. Make-up shifts may be required in case of call-offs.
• Maximum allowable RTO (Request Time Off): 7 days for AYA Auto Offer. Note that holiday RTO cannot be approved.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in nursing, specifically with orthopedics.
• Must have experience with Epic software.
• Certifications: BCLS and NIH required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience in charge nursing or with Level I trauma is regarded as a plus.

Patient Population

The average daily census is 37 patients with a capacity of 39 beds. This unit will handle various patient diagnoses, including those recovering from orthopedic and neuro-spine surgeries.

Additional Information

Candidates must successfully pass EKG testing prior to the start of the assignment.
