Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience
• At least 1 year of PCU, stepdown, or cardiac stepdown experience required
• Recent and consistent acute care experience within the last 12 months
• Travel nursing experience required
• Valid ACLS and BLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Must be comfortable working with adult and geriatric patients
• Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced acute care setting

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care to adult and geriatric patients in a stepdown and acute care environment
• Monitor and assess patients with complex medical needs, including hematology and acute leukemia populations
• Support infection prevention practices and patient fall reduction initiatives
• Administer IV therapy, blood products, and electrolytes as needed
• Manage telemetry monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias
• Perform central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care and management
• Assist with feeding tube care and IV access procedures
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote safe, efficient patient care
• Document care accurately in Epic and maintain strong clinical communication
• Adapt to rotating day and night shifts based on department needs
