• Setting: Mixed-acuity surgical oncology Progressive Care Unit / Med Surg unit
• Location: Columbus, OH 43210
• Start Date: 11/2/2026
• Duration: 16 weeks
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
• Schedule: Variable weekends based on unit needs; floating may be required within scope of practice
• Charting System: Epic
• Orientation: 72 hours

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
• At least 1 year of recent PCU nursing experience required
• Current hands-on acute care experience required within the last 12 months
• Experience caring for adults and geriatrics in a PCU, stepdown, or similar acute care setting
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Preferred certification: ONS Chemotherapy
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Ability to float to other acute care oncology units within scope of practice
• Strong references from professional leadership required
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care for a mixed-acuity surgical oncology patient population
• Monitor and manage PCU and Med Surg level patients with changing clinical needs
• Administer chemotherapy, IV antibiotics, blood transfusions, insulin drips, and heparin drips as indicated
• Respond to oncologic emergencies, including cytokine release syndrome
• Deliver chest tube care and support patients with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Use critical thinking to prioritize care in a busy, high-acuity Progressive Care Unit
• Maintain strong infection prevention and fall prevention practices
• Document accurately in Epic and collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while adapting to unit needs
