Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and confident Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN to support a specialized transplant and hepatology patient population. This travel RN job offers the opportunity to work with an interdisciplinary healthcare team while expanding your clinical skills in a highly collaborative stepdown environment.   • Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment

  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Schedule: 3 x 12-hour night shifts per week (36 hours/week)
  • Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
  • Weekends/Holidays: Weekend coverage required; rotating holidays may apply
  • Float Requirement: Float within the organization as needed
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Unit Focus: Mixed-acuity adult PCU with transplant, hepatology, telemetry, and stepdown patient care
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940 - $2,040

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • Current Registered Nurse license in hand at time of submission
  • ACLS and BLS required
  • Epic experience preferred or required
  • Strong telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation skills
  • Comfortable caring for adult patients in a progressive care or stepdown setting
  • Experience with central line and peripheral IV management
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-moving clinical environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to mixed-acuity adult patients in a PCU setting
  • Monitor telemetry and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
  • Support patients with kidney, liver, and pancreas transplants, as well as hepatology and GI-related needs
  • Assist with recovery care following procedures such as kidney biopsy and paracentesis
  • Manage IV therapy, central lines, PICC lines, and related line care
  • Administer and monitor IV insulin protocols and other ordered therapies
  • Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, rehabilitation, and other support services
  • Maintain accurate documentation and deliver safe, compassionate, patient-centered care
