Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience required
  • Active compact or state RN license in hand at time of submission
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Experience with PCU, step-down, telemetry, or progressive care patients preferred
  • Ability to manage adult and geriatric patients with varied acuity levels
  • Strong clinical skills in IV starts, telemetry, and complex patient monitoring
  • Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program preferred
  • Must be comfortable floating to other units within the organization as needed
  • Flu vaccine required unless medically exempt

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care for step-down and progressive care patients
  • Monitor telemetry and recognize changes in patient condition promptly
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and ordered treatments
  • Support patients requiring respiratory support, cardiac monitoring, and complex nursing interventions
  • Perform ongoing assessments, document accurately in Epic, and communicate changes to the care team
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate effective patient care
  • Assist with rapid response situations and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Maintain a professional, adaptable approach while working in a float pool environment
