Job Requirements

• Active RN license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of total acute care nursing experience
• At least 1 year of PCU / stepdown experience
• Current acute care experience required
• Experience with mixed-acuity med-surg and stepdown patients preferred
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
• Experience with Epic charting required
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability in a busy clinical environment

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to stepdown and PCU patients
• Monitor and manage patients with complex surgical oncology and cardiac-related needs
• Administer chemotherapy, IV antibiotics, blood transfusions, insulin drips, and heparin drips as indicated
• Support care for patients experiencing oncologic emergencies and cytokine release syndrome
• Perform cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias
• Manage chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP support, tracheostomy care, and related respiratory needs within scope
• Maintain a strong focus on infection prevention and fall prevention practices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe, efficient patient care
• Adapt to a fast-paced acute care unit where priorities may change based on census and staffing needs
