Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift float pool position at a teaching hospital requiring 2 years of experience and IV/tele monitoring skills.

Details

• MS/Tele Float Pool position within a teaching hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30), 36 hours per week
• Float required within the hospital system
• Some weekends and holidays required
• Utilizes EPIC EMR

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skilled in IV starts, tele monitoring, and general IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Experience with central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care preferred
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, and ABG interpretation preferred
• Neurological/psychiatric care experience including CVA and pre/post neurosurgery preferred
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Wound care/wound vac and isolation precaution experience
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, including at least one from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide medical/surgical and telemetry nursing care within a float pool structure
• Complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon signing contract due to strict compliance deadlines
• Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to a fingerprinting location; those farther away will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible for a travel assignment at this health system
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this role due to travel experience requirement
