Job Description
Overview
Location: Methodist Professional Center - Urology Department
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Onsite)
Role Overview
As a Registration Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring a smooth and positive experience for patients from arrival through departure. This position supports front-end operations including scheduling, registration, and insurance verification while maintaining a high level of professionalism and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and manage check-in/check-out processes in a timely and professional manner
- Schedule appointments and follow-up visits
- Manage work queues, including prior authorizations
- Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information
- Explain charges, policies, and payment expectations
- Process payments and ensure accurate documentation
- Scan and maintain patient records
- Answer incoming calls and direct patients appropriately
- Support overall patient flow and clinic operations
Performance Benchmarks
- 3 Months: Able to greet patients, schedule appointments, and assist with prior authorizations
- 6 Months: Increased efficiency; independently scanning records and supporting additional office functions
- 12 Months: Fully independent in all core responsibilities

Qualifications

- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, and clinical practices preferred
- Ability to learn and retain medical coding (ICD-10, CPT) preferred
