Position Summary
The Department of Psychiatry seeks an office assistant to provide administrative support for Prevent 2 Protect: The Adolescent Targeted Violence Prevent Program. This is a 5-year, $15M community-based, multi-disciplinary service initiative funded by the Michigan Department of Education to avert targeted violence in the middle and high school settings. The office assistant will work closely with and at the direction of the project leadership. This position will work closely with the internal faculty and staff including regional teams, psychiatry department's business office, office of sponsored programs and external sponsors/constituents/partners. The primary responsibilities of this position include:
Due to the collaborative nature of the work done within the Prevent2Protect project, the individual in this position will be expected to work on campus every day.
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired in the first two or three years in college, technical school or related field; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in maintaining account ledgers, departmental operations, employment, or in performing tasks related to the area of employment; experience in word processing, editing and composing correspondence, and maintaining spreadsheets and/or databases; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
