EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Two years clerical or administrative experience

High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.

PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY:

To assist the Assistant Principals in the performance of their duties, greet the public in person and answer the telephone. To supervise the students who are assigned to this office as student aides.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepares written correspondence forms, schedules or reports using typewriter or personal computer.

  2. Maintains a daily teacher attendance log and records for substitute teachers.

  3. Assists with computer input of student discipline letters, distributes letters and coordinates collection of data for referral and assignments for disciplined students.

  4. Monitors and processes personnel time records including leave requests and reports.

  5. Compiles personnel time record information and submits to Central Office.

  6. Maintains a log of visitors.

  7. Collects book fines from teachers.

  8. Collects monies for lost or damaged books from students.

  9. Keeps proper accounting of all textbook monies.

  10. Provides clerical services for two Assistant Principals.

  11. Prepares letters on students being referred to Pupil Personnel Services.

  12. Prepares and obtains assignment sheets for students being assigned In School Suspension.

  13. Assists in the distribution of textbooks throughout school year and maintains textbook records.

  14. Updates and maintains campus master calendar.

  15. Maintains confidentiality of information.

  16. Reports to work on time every day.

  17. Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, equipment and clerical techniques
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • High degree of discretion dealing with confidential information
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Valid Texas Driver's License with a driving record that meets the requirements of the District
