About the Agency
The Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services (MDRS) is a state agency dedicated to helping Mississippians with disabilities to live and work independently. MDRS serves through four major programs: Vocational Rehabilitation (VR), Vocational Rehabilitation for the Blind (VRB), Office of Special Disability Programs (OSDP), and Disability Determination Services (DDS). Services also include support through Assistive Technology, the Office of Business Development and much more. It is the mission of MDRS to provide appropriate and comprehensive services in a timely and effective manner. About the Position
This is a time limited position. This position serves in the Office of Disability Determination Services (DDS). DDS makes medical determinations for Title II and Title XVI Social Security disability claims. This position serves within the Office of Disability Determination Services (DDS). DDS makes medical determinations for Title II and Title XVI Social Security disability claims. The incumbent will provide overall support to the Medical Relations Unit. Primary responsibilities will include but not limited to: Scheduling consultative examinations for disability claimants; Communicating with consultative examination providers to obtain appointments; Maintaining accurate appointment and claimant information; Following up with providers and claimants regarding examination scheduling; Completing other administrative duties necessary to support DDS operations.

Must demonstrate the ability to plan, prioritize, and organize to complete assigned tasks. Must work collaboratively but also independently to achieve assigned goals. Must adhere to guidelines and polices set forth by the Social Security Administration. Must possess excellent communication skills and use innovative methods to assist the agency in meeting its goals. Proficiency in use of software and technology required for performance of job.
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires High School Diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years of experience. Hiring agency preferred qualifications: Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and web-based computer program experience.

Paid Personal Leave and Sick Leave
Full-time employees receive paid time off for personal needs and for sick leave. Leave begins accruing after one month of employment and may be used as it is accrued. Employees earn approximately 18 days of personal leave annually and 12 days of sick leave annually.
