What you'll do • Lead matters across business, IP, and select federal litigation, including trademark and copyright disputes, TTAB proceedings, licensing, and commercial contracts • Serve as primary counsel to clients on strategic IP and business matters — brand protection, monetization, contract negotiation, dispute strategy • Supervise paralegals and junior staff on trademark prosecution and copyright matters, with strategic review rather than line-level drafting • Mentor a developing junior attorney already running litigation matters • Collaborate with the managing attorney as a peer on firm strategy, client experience, and growth • Contribute to a premium advisory offering being built for high-value clients Qualifications: Who you are • 8+ years of practice, with substantive experience in IP, business, and commercial litigation • Comfortable operating at a senior level: taking verbal direction, owning matters end-to-end, and exercising independent judgment • California bar in good standing • Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with a track record of moving complex matters efficiently • Experience supervising and developing junior attorneys and staff • Comfortable with fixed-fee work and managing matters against a budget • Proficient in modern tools — Clio, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Word You are likely a strong fit if you • Think like a business owner, not just a technician • See legal issues from 10,000 feet and act with the right level of detail • Take initiative without waiting to be told • Enjoy mentoring younger attorneys • Want to build something — not just bill hours Preferred (not required) • Soft IP focus (trademark, copyright, trade dress) • TTAB experience • Experience advising founder-led or creative businesses • Origination welcome but not expected — we generate our own pipeline About Trestle Law, APC Trestle Law serves founders, creators, and established entrepreneurs across the country.
