Leads a team of Claims Consultants and Consulting Directors responsible for the handling of complex, high exposure life sciences claims and claims arising under Coverage B of commercial general liability policies (personal and advertising injury), including matters involving product advertising, labeling and marketing content, intellectual property and unfair competition allegations, reputational harm, and related emerging exposures. JOB DESCRIPTION: Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines: Leads the work activities of medium to high severity specialized Claims Professionals, has full management responsibility for setting and communicating expectations, providing direction and situational coaching, and facilitating ongoing training.
Requirements: • Accredited doctorate degree in a life-science or basic-science discipline (PharmD, PhD, MD/DO, DSc, DNP) • Ability to understand and effectively communicate scientific information; respond to inquiries and address needs of key stakeholders • Demonstrated success managing internal/external stakeholders and leading or influencing cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment including strong teamwork and collaboration • Proven track record of strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities • Strong written and oral communication skills to shape and articulate a clear strategy/story • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently • Ability to initiate and maintain relationships throughout the medical community • Demonstrated ability to build positive constructive relationships with cross-functional team members • Demonstrated high level of personal integrity, emotional intelligence, and flexibility • Understanding of the highly regulated bio-pharm industry, including legal and regulatory environment • Minimum of 1 year of MSL experience preferred • Experience in relevant clinical practice, disease state knowledge, and rare disease preferred.
