Working closely with the Director, Deputy Director, and affiliated faculty, the Assistant Director translates strategic goals into operational plans and ensures effective implementation across academic programs, events, student engagement initiatives, and external partnerships. Drive SPL alumni engagement efforts, including maintaining databases and facilitating outreach to develop or promote employment and internship opportunities for current students to include, as appropriate, travel in support of SPL alumni and substantive events.
The Director oversees all day-to-day operations of the Advancing Tobacco-Free Communities grant covering Delaware, Otsego, and Schoharie counties, with responsibility for program development and implementation, budget oversight and monthly vouchering, grant-writing, and staff supervision. Ensure that health equity goals are included in all work with particular focus on addressing tobacco use among groups disproportionately affected by tobacco use including low-income communities, BIPOC, people living with disabilities and/or mental illness and members of the LBGTQ+ community.
This includes implementation of Residential Living's curriculum; supervising student leaders; crisis intervention; participation in the Division of Student Experience's on-call structure; resolution of violations of Residential Living policies; implementing programs and educational initiatives designed to assist students in transitioning to campus living; and other duties as assigned.
