Timely and accurately assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patients • Contact practitioner to obtain orders • Administer prescribed medication, treatments, and other tasks as ordered by the practitioner • Provide emergency first aid care, when appropriate • Check and record vital signs, peak flows, blood glucose checks, weight, and other diagnostic tests on-site, when appropriate • Triage officer intake screenings for necessity and priority at sick call • Collect and record data for statistical reporting on the CQI • Record information in chronic clinic and outcome study documents as indicated • Report reactions to treatments and medications, as well as changes in the patients' emotional or physical condition • Provide patient education on topics such as correctional facility's policies and discharge planning • Record care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms • Collaborate and coordinate multiple medical services for diagnosis and treatment, as directed by the practitioner • Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control precautions as required. Active nursing license in the state in which services are to be provided, in good standing.
