Vice President for Student Life Johnson UniversityVice President for Student LifeKnoxville, TNServe as University's chief student development officer for all face-to-face and online students; Develop and implement a strategic plan that includes residence life, student leadership, student activities, counseling, health services, multicultural student affairs, campus recreation, and career services programs, including educational, financial, and facility needs for the program areas; Work with School Deans and others to coordinate student services for graduate and online students; Develop a budget and manage resources for all Student Life areas; Coordinate the revision and publishing of the Student Handbook; Collaborate with the Institutional Effectiveness office to assess the effectiveness of residence life, student leadership, student activities, counseling, health services, multicultural student affairs, campus recreation, and career services to facilitate continued improvement; Provide guidance and oversight to the Dean of Students in student conduct situations and overall residence life programming; Oversee the Director of Multicultural Student Affairs to support students of color and international students, fostering unity and belonging in the student life experience; Oversee the Director of Spiritual Life to provide chapel programming and spiritual development for students; Oversee the Director of Community Recreation to facilitate recreation and wellness programming; Oversee the Director of Career Services to provide support for students' career development and placement; Work closely with the Athletic Director to support intercollegiate athletes and to integrate athletes into student life activities outside of athletics; Participate, as appropriate, in the resolution of employee and student grievances and complaints; Oversee the development of co-curricular educational programming for the student community, providing opportunities for social, spiritual, physical, and leadership development; Submit annual DOE reports for Crime on Campus; Participate, as appropriate, on campus and university committees and task forces and provide leadership for special projects as needed; Establish and maintain positive working and professional relationships with all university affiliates, community groups, schools, local and national groups, agencies, and professional organizations; Serve as member of the President's Senior Leadership Team; Submit semi-annual reports to President to be included in the Board of Trustees Report; Other duties as assigned by the President. A graduate degree in higher education leadership or related field; doctorate preferred; Significant experience in an educational leadership role; Understanding of and strong commitment to the mission, core values, and Statement of Faith of Johnson University; Strong preference given to candidates with a history of active church membership in the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement church tradition (Christian Churches/Churches of Christ).
