Staff use the Active Support Model focusing on doing things with people, not for them, promoting choice, independence, and participation at every opportunity to help service users participate in daily living tasks such as personal care, medication management, cooking, cleaning, shopping, managing finances, and accessing the community. The role also involves lone working, particularly during outreach visits or when supporting individuals in their own homes, requiring staff to work safely, independently, and confidently while following organisational procedures, also providing 1:1 supervision to Band 3 Support Workers.
