p>Summary of Role: We are seeking a senior-level attorney (at least 7 years of experience) to support the drafting, review, and negotiation of technology agreements across GlobalFoundries' product lines, including in particular the processor IP businesses of GF's two recently announced acquisitions: MIPS and the ARC processor business of Synopsys.

Attorneys are required to independently represent clients at hearings governed by the Administrative Procedures Act from docketing to completion, including: analyzing evidence and preparing case strategies; preparing and serving discovery requests; responding to discovery; preparing and responding to motions; identifying and preparing witnesses; conducting depositions; and representing the agency at hearing. The Enforcement Department provides legal support related to HHS sanctions against facilities, programs, and services, including reviewing and drafting notices, correspondence, and guidance documents; interpreting state and federal laws, regulations, and rules; rendering legal advice and counsel to HHS agency personnel; providing legal representation in contested case proceedings, and overseeing enforcement litigation in district courts.
Interacts routinely with caseworkers, supervisors, program directors, and program administrators; agency attorneys, county and district attorneys, assistant attorney generals, and opposing counsel; judges, agency clients, witnesses, community professionals, and expert witnesses; and protective services clients and the general public regarding legal activities. Assists in preparing subpoenas requiring the appearance of witnesses, records, and documents for hearings and civil litigations: Assists in preparing subpoenas reviewing SOAH hearings and civil litigations to determine appropriate staff to appear as witnesses.
The attorney's duties will range from legally reviewing and assisting with drafting policies, agency administrative rules, and other documents for CPS and other programs and divisions in the agency; researching issues of concern and implication to DFPS and drafting formal and informal memos for DFPS programs and executive management staff; providing legal advice as needed to the DFPS programs based on sound legal research; drafting fair hearing orders for adoption assistance and permanency care assistance denials; drafting legal sufficiency reviews for investigation findings that are appealed; providing timely and expert resource assistance to DFPS government relations staff and the legal legislative coordinator by reviewing and analyzing legislation that impacts the agency, responding to questions from the legislature, drafting legislative initiatives and statutory revisions, and serving as a resource witness during legislative hearings when needed; and providing general support to DFPS programs in their activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws. Essential Job Functions: (30%) Reviews, revises and drafts complex contracts and solicitation documents (including, but not limited to, Requests for Proposals, Requests for Offers, Requests for Qualifications, Requests for Applications, and Invitations for Bids) in accordance with HHS system agencies' legal authority and in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations relating to contracts and contract management. This position performs highly complex legal work with respect to the HHS systems procurements, grants, contracting, and enforcement of contracts to ensure HHS agency and contractor compliance with state and federal laws and regulations regarding contracts.
The position interacts routinely with caseworkers, supervisors, program directors and program administrators; agency attorneys, county and district attorneys, and opposing counsel; judges; agency clients, witnesses, community professionals, and expert witnesses; and protective services clients and the general public. The staff must be familiar with the WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 to create accessible content including but not limited to; Microsoft Office documents, Adobe PDFs, webpages, software, training guides, video, and audio files.

Work with case paralegal to draft, review, and modify claims, motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, subpoenas, memorandums, and other legal documents.
