Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Telemetry night shift position requiring 2 years of cardiac/tele experience and a WI or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the Telemetry unit caring for MS, MS/Tele, and Tele patients
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
  • Patient ratio of 1:4-5
  • Floating required to all care areas as needed
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • May require holiday coverage participation
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active RN license (WI or Compact) currently in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of cardiac/telemetry nursing experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • IMC experience preferred
  • Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, post-MI and pre/post cardiac surgery care, IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care, renal failure and pre/post hemodialysis management, IV therapy, chest tubes, nasal cannulas, and wound care
  • Additional preferred skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, tracheostomy care, PCA management, remote telemetry monitoring, rapid response/code team use, post cardiac angiogram care, surgical drains, and total joint replacement care
  • Must be clean-shaven to ensure proper mask seal for respirator fit testing, as no exemptions are permitted
  • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and post-surgical care
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates who have worked as a traveler for the health system for more than 1 year must take a 6-month break before returning
  • Candidates residing within 70 miles of the facility are considered local and are not accepted
