Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro/Trauma Telemetry Stepdown position requiring WI or compact RN license and prior telemetry/stepdown experience.

Details

• Busy stroke/neuro/trauma stepdown unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes stroke, neurosurgery, trauma, general med/surg, and IMC/stepdown level of care
• Typical patient ratio is 1:4, may be higher depending on resource availability
• Performs specialized procedures including lumbar drains, NIHSS assessments, and stroke education
• Epic charting system experience required
• Rotating 3x12 shifts, primarily days (7a-7p) with occasional nights (7p-7a)
• Every other weekend required

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Trauma Level II hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Must be clean-shaven to ensure proper mask seal for respirator fit testing; no medical or religious exemptions accepted
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry and neurological nursing care to a high-acuity stroke, neuro, and trauma stepdown population
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Fit testing and OSHA respirator clearance required prior to start; CAPRs/PAPRs not provided or permitted
• First-time travelers are not accepted
• Clinicians cannot work past 1 year as a traveler and must take a 6-month break before returning
• Candidates residing within 70 miles of the facility are considered local and are not accepted for this position
