Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric ICU position requiring 2+ years of pediatric hospital experience and an OH or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a children's hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• 13-week assignment length
• Float to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and MS units as needed
• Floating is a facility-wide requirement and point of emphasis

Requirements

• Active OH State or Compact RN license in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, PALS; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a pediatric hospital required (hard stop requirement)
• Recent Level 1 trauma experience required
• First-time travelers considered with closer to 3 years of PICU experience
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/PICC line management
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and cardiovascular care
• Proficient in ventilator management and respiratory care
• Experience with gastric tube management and NG tube insertion
• Knowledge of Pediatric Early Warning Score (PEWS) and Rapid Response Team protocols
• Competent in pediatric dosage calculations for medication administration
• Two supervisory references required at time of consideration, with at least one manager or supervisor-titled reference

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
• Support rapid response and early warning protocols for pediatric patients
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius, as local candidates are not accepted for this role
• Previous perm employees of the facility must wait at least 2 years before returning as a traveler
