Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III/IV NICU position requiring OH or compact RN license and frequent floating to multiple units and campuses.

Details

  • Work in the NICU of a hospital environment
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
  • Patient population includes neonates ranging from under 24-28 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation
  • Will float to BPD (bronchopulmonary dysplasia) NICU with average length of stay of 2-3 years, requiring comfort with frequent trach care and heavy parent involvement
  • Floating required to PICU, CV PICU, stepdown, MS unit, and rarely to ED
  • Floating required to other campuses including Riverside, St. Ann's, Grant Medical, Dublin Methodist, and Doctors Hospital
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Two-part interview process including initial screening with Float Pool Leader followed by unit manager interview

Requirements

  • Active OH State or Compact RN license required in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS and NRP required, PALS preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of Level IV NICU experience required
  • Minimum 2 years total Level III/IV NICU experience required
  • Required skills include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC management, and neonatal dosage calculations
  • Experience with high-risk delivery attendance, ventilator management, and respiratory distress syndrome care required
  • Experience with neonatal sepsis, isolation precautions, and dysrhythmia interpretation required
  • Two professional references required at time of consideration, at least one must be from a manager or supervisor
  • Cannot have worked in a permanent capacity for this facility within the last 2 years
  • Must live outside a 60-mile radius of the facility

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive NICU nursing care including high-risk delivery attendance and management of complex respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions
  • Care for neonates requiring specialized interventions such as therapeutic hypothermia, ECMO, high frequency ventilation, and nitric oxide therapy
  • Support families with breastfeeding, colostomy/ileostomy care, and management of conditions such as NEC and gastroschisis
  • Floating to different units and campuses is a strong point of emphasis and requirement for most positions at this facility
  • Must be prepared to comply with facility float expectations and receive appropriate unit assignments
