Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric ICU position requiring an OH or Compact RN license and 2 years of current PICU experience.

Details

  • Work in the Pediatric ICU of a hospital setting
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
  • 13-week assignment length
  • Floating required to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and MS units as needed
  • Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

  • Active OH or Compact RN license in hand
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications
  • Minimum 2 years of current PICU experience required (CVPICU-only experience not accepted)
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • First-time travelers considered with 3+ years of recent Level 1 PICU experience
  • Proficiency in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, central line care, IV therapy, and pediatric medication administration
  • Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and dysrhythmia management

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to pediatric ICU patients including respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, and neurologic support
  • Utilize specialized skills such as ICP monitoring, ETCO2 monitoring, and Broselow system for pediatric dosing
  • Floating to multiple units is a standard expectation for this facility
  • Cannot have worked as a permanent employee at the facility within the last 2 years
  • No local candidates accepted within a 60-mile radius
  • Two supervisory references required, at least one from a manager or supervisor (charge references not accepted)
