Description

American Traveler is hiring a night-shift RN for a PCU/Stepdown position requiring 2 years of PCU experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown) setting with telemetry monitoring
• Estimated patient ratio of 1:3
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
• Weekday and some weekend shifts required with rotating holiday coverage
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required
• IV start and telemetry skills required
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, cardiac drip management (no titration), and medication administration
• Experience with heparin protocols and IV insulin/titration protocols
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) therapy
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a stepdown/PCU environment managing cardiac, respiratory, and endocrine conditions
• Complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict state credentialing timelines
• Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to a fingerprinting location soon after booking; those farther away will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees are not eligible for travel assignments at this health system
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
