Travel Nurse RN - Surgical Intensive Care Unit - $2,251 per week in Columbus, OH

Job Opportunity – ICU Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating days/nights or nights only based on department needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period. Patient ratio is 2:1 across all shifts. 72-hour orientation provided.

Highlights:

• Surgical ICU specialty focusing on neurosurgical and oncology patient populations
• Manage complex patient diagnoses including septic shock, ARDS, craniotomy, stroke, and intracranial hypertension
• Extensive procedural experience including EVD management, ICP monitoring, mechanical ventilation, CRRT, and vasopressor titration
• Epic electronic medical records system in use
• 12-bed unit with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Float opportunities to other ICU and step-down units as needed

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of current ICU experience required (must be actively working in specialty within the last 12 months)
• Epic charting experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• Previous travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
• Nursing education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required (at least 1 from manager/director; charge RN acceptable for second reference)
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)

Additional Information:

Compliance and credentialing deadlines are strict with a Tuesday deadline prior to start date. Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing. Out-of-state candidates within driving distance must travel to Ohio for fingerprinting; those at greater distances will receive mailed packets. Former employees must have been away from the facility for 6 months or more to be eligible.
