Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Hematology Oncology – Ohio

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Days/Nights or Nights only available; variable weekend coverage based on unit needs; 72-hour orientation; no blocked scheduling; floating to other Med/Surg and Oncology units as needed

Highlights:

  • 36-bed specialized unit treating adolescent and young adult (AYA) patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions
  • Patient diagnoses include lymphoma, multiple myeloma, acute and chronic leukemias, sickle cell disease, and other hematologic conditions
  • Goal staffing ratio of 1:4, may extend to 1:5 depending on acuity
  • Procedures include chemotherapy administration, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin and heparin drips, and management of oncologic emergencies
  • Epic charting system with telemetry monitoring on unit; strong emphasis on infection prevention and patient safety protocols
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, rapid response teams, respiratory services, and social services

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of current acute care Med/Surg experience required (must be actively working in the last 12 months)
  • Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license in hand at time of submission)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification preferred and may qualify for additional compensation
  • Telemetry experience with interpretation of dysrhythmias required
  • Proficiency in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line management, PICC line management, and peripheral line care
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Hematology oncology experience preferred but not required
  • Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal supervisor)
