Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med/Surg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour; Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in acute care experience in specialty License: Registered Nurse License required Certifications: BLS required - AHA ONLY Must-Have: Experience starting IVs required EPIC experience required Telemetry test must be passed prior to start Ability to care for patients under supervision of correctional officers Description: D/N rotators will not flip between day and night shifts more than twice in a 6-week scheduling period unless an exception is made at the employee's request. Employees will be scheduled for 36 hours off between the end of a scheduled night shift and the beginning of a scheduled day shift for patient care. Day and night shifts are 12 hours, with every other weekend rotation and holidays as needed. The unit cares for adult, med/surg patients with a variety of conditions and diagnoses. There is a focus on the geriatric population. The unit includes a locked wing for patients under correctional supervision, with staff always accompanied by correctional officers. Additional considerations include a requirement to manage various patient needs including IV access, telemetry monitoring, wound care, and isolation precautions. Floating may be required as needed.
